In Loving Memory: Lolita G. Llobrera (1938–2019)
Lolita Garcia Llobrera lived a vibrant, bold life dedicated fully to education, mentorship, and Christ. Born in Cavite City, she underwent a powerful spiritual conversion at age 17, redirecting her life toward Christian education and theological study.
As a legendary English teacher and adviser of the school paper at Cavite National High School (1966–1972), she fiercely defended her students and intentionally nurtured their spiritual growth. Even during the volatile onset of Martial Law, her unwavering faith carried her peacefully through a mistaken military arrest and subsequent release within 24 hours.
In 1973, she entered a marriage beautifully orchestrated by God with Pastor Bien. For 46 years, she served as a multi-gifted partner in ministry—spearheading church administration, music, and youth work while raising their three sons. Her passion for teaching continued in the United States, where she taught ESL at Pasadena City College and Santa Ana Rancho Santiago Community College, impacting countless multicultural students with her legendary warmth and dedication until her peaceful passing in March 2019.
